I've had a ton of fun with this bait. I can't seem to get lethargic bass to bite it on topwater, but local trout JUMP for this thing when I quickly walk it across a stream. If you steadily reel in fast enough, the legs make some good action. Unfortunately the trout around here don't have mouths big enough to swallow the spider so I haven't hooked any yet. I've casted this thing over branches probably 10x on 10lb braided line and got it back every time.

Casted into some muck, popped it a little and got hit. Really lifelike action. New favorite lure

If you live in the south eastern USA, you’re probably familiar with big yellow orb weaver spiders. I like to call them banana spiders, because they’re big and yellow and are long like a cavendish banana. Anyway, orb weavers love woodsy areas adjacent to or on wetlands and in the spring and summer, build enormous beautiful webs.

They’re also amazing bass bait. This is a great top water lure for fishing right underneath branches and overhangs. As if the spider just fell off a branch web and into the water. It’s rigged up weedless so you can just flick cast it where you need to and work it over hyacinths and lilly pads.

This lie is actually pretty cool to use. The way you can mimic the movement of a spider on the water. Have have caught plenty of bass

There’s some not so great reviews about this lure but I don’t understand why. We’ve not had any of the bad experiences & these things work! They do however take some practice so I wonder if the bad reviews are the result of not really using them correctly. I will say after each bite or catch you do have to squeeze the lure to get the water out of it but you don’t have to do that after each cast if you aren’t getting any bites/catches. Also, after catching a bass we’ve not had the lures lose a leg or stop working etc as others have reported.

I know that alot of people are stating they are falling apart, I have not had this issue. I have had it sink on me but you just have to squeeze the water out.

I like how realistic you can make this little guy run across the water, but the slower hops for me have been more effective.

Highly recommend if you want something different for top water.

I’ve never been much for top water lures because I’ve never caught anything on a frog ever but I’ve caught a handful of bass on this spider in the month that I’ve had it. I missed two but caught at least 5 decent bass on it including bass I’d almost think were too want you hit it but they did. It pulls through heavy cover pretty well and I’ve only been using 10# power pro braid and I’m able to set the hook good on them. I lost my original spider because a big bass grabbed it and pulled me into some tall reeds and broke my 10# braid but I would’ve had him if I had heavier braid on but I like going as light as I can so I can cast farther since I have the 1/4oz version since the 1/2oz was on back order which I would’ve used 50# for.
